Combat Outpost Robinson and 4 Freedom Equestrian Team Form
Partnership to Help Veterans, First Responders and Their Caregivers

Two of Southwest Ohio’s busiest veteran-oriented non-profit organizations have formed a partnership to better support veterans, first responders and their caregivers. Combat Outpost Robinson, and 4 Freedom Equestrian Team have joined forces to offer a broad range of activities focused on helping to relieve stress and trauma, especially caused by PTSD, TBI and suicidal feelings.

The mission of Combat Outpost Robinson (COPR) is to support all veterans who are experiencing, or have experienced, any traumatic or life-altering events. COPR is led by Gold Star Father James Robinson.

The 4 Freedom Equestrian Team supports and honors all who have served. The team has performed as honor guards and at parades, funerals, ceremonies, nursing home visits, community outreach events and educational programs. They have held an Equine Assisted Therapy Program at the Dayton VA Medical Center for Veterans battling PTSD.  4 Freedom Equestrian Team is led by Team Captain and horse owner Leah Young.

Leah’s dad served in the Navy on the USS Canberra, her brother was in the Navy Reserve, 3 uncles and 3 great uncles served during WWII, along with many other uncles and cousins who have served in the Armed Forces. Leah says, “4 Freedom Equestrian Team has been a blessing and I give all the glory and praise to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Horses have always been at the top of veterans’ lists for the best ways of dealing with their previous-work related trauma. Both organizations serve the same people and often appear at the same events. So combining forces was a no-brainer.
